Job Description
As a member of the Bureau’s team of translators, you will work on the official English translations of central government documents, including the premier’s annual report on the work of the government, state policy documents, and the works of Chinese leaders.
Your main role will be to revise and polish translations to ensure accuracy and readability. You will contribute to the team through your strong understanding of the English language and your self-motivation to research and enhance the quality of translations.

You Will Be
A native English speaker with excellent written communication skills

You Will Have
 A bachelor’s degree, preferably in China studies, international relations, or journalism
 High proficiency in Chinese (particularly reading)
 Previous experience in translation or editing (preferred)
 A good knowledge of contemporary China

Salary and Benefits
 Salary: 15,000-20,000 RMB per month
 Apartment: You will have the option of a heavily-subsidized and fully furnished apartment located in the heart of Beijing (Xidan). The apartment is a fifteen-minute walk from work, and is ideally located for access to shops, restaurants, cinemas, and public transport.
 Housing Allowance: Should you choose to find your own housing you will be given a housing allowance of 18,000 yuan per year on top of your salary.
 Insurance: The Bureau offers social insurance (basic health care and state pension) to all its employees.
 Paid Leave: Foreign employees under a one-year contract are entitled to 15 days of paid leave after their first six months. .
