Our company works for the development and maintenance of an ecologically sustainable, economically viable, socially just and democratic society. We support community-initiated education, conservation and cultural projects that empower local communities to engage in sustainable development. We believe that to fulfill the mission of returning the air, land and water to health, it is essential to mobilize youth and other community members in public participation.

We are a registered independent Chinese non-governmental organization which traces its roots to Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province, where in 1996 key staff members started work on nature conservation and community development projects, as part of our national ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) program. The Shangri-la Institute has accumulated 20 years experience working to promote ESD in China, in both the formal and non-formal education settings by supporting projects that empower schools and local communities to engage in sustainable development

Internship Position Requirement
1.Strategy and planning across all communications functions in China, including digital, brand, content, media and mobilisation
2.Implementation of China communication strategies
3.Ensure that communication strategies and plans are delivered effectively and in a timely manner
4.The leadership of the communications team and function in the China office
5.Supervise and manage the performance of the China office communications team to ensure that goals are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner.
6.Reporting and budget management
7.Ensure efficient, effective and ethical use and management of budget funds
Position Requirement
1.Experience working as part of a team in an international environment;
2.Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both Chinese and English
3.Strong interpersonal, networking and organizational skills
4.Demonstrated leadership and collaboration skills
5.Strong awareness of global and regional socio-economic, political and environmental issues would be desirable
