International Studies Department (ISD) Academic Supervisor

Job Description:
● Location: Qingdao city, China.
● Contract Term: two academic years, starts as soon as work visa issued.
● Work Days: Mondays to Fridays. Two days off on weekends.
● Work Hours: 40 hours per week.

Remuneration and Benefits:
●Salary: RMB28,000—RMB30,000 monthly before tax.
●Accommodation: housing budget and utilities reimbursement of RMB3,000 per month before tax.
●Meals: meal allowance provided.
●Holidays: full paid 11 days Chinese public holidays per year.
●Vacation: a gross monthly salary during winter and summer Vacation covered in the contract.
●Airfare Allowance: up to RMB10,000 reimbursement of round-trip flights upon the contract fulfillment.
●Insurance: medical insurance, life insurance and accident insurance provided.
●Annual Physical Examination: provided.
●Work Visa: offer working permit to apply for a work visa.
●Staff children tuition - discount enrollment.


Job Responsibilities Summary:
International High School Academic Supervisor to assist the Director to manage teacher team and improve the academic level of ISD, and at the same time, work as teacher instructs students by performing the duties listed.
● Assume teacher responsibilities including classroom instruction, homeroom mentor, product team advisor, co-curricular sponsor, and curriculum development.
● Work school calendar of 190-200 student days, longer school day of 7:50 a.m. – 17:30 p.m. and teacher calendar of 200-210 days. (Exact days of school should be in accordance with the school calendar)
● Weekly classroom instructional period will be approximately 26 teaching hours with 40-50 minutes per period.
● Support enrichment programs.
● Participate in required teacher training.
● Develop school curriculum and start-up components.
● Support an international focus across the curriculum, cross-disciplinary planning and inquiry based learning within a block schedule.
● Meet instructional and compliance requirements of the ISD program.
● Help with student management.

Requirements:
● Bachelor degree or higher. Majored in education or relative.
● Native English level speakers.
● Valid secondary teaching certificate preferred with necessary endorsements or English as a second language teaching certificate;
● Secondary school teaching experience preferred.
● Language Skills: highly proficient in written and verbal communication with a particular emphasis on subject area, specific competencies and emphatic communications. ESL training and/or interest in teaching non-native English speaking students.
● Technical Skills: ability to use computer technology for research, data management, communications and other instruction.
● Reasoning Ability: highly proficient in subject areas of: reasoning, problem solving, organizational dynamics and emotional intelligence.
● Work Environment: school building consisting of office space, classrooms and specialty facilities.
