Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Responsible for teaching Drama & Performing Arts to build on student knowledge and expertise, develop significant units of inquiry, accommodate a range of ability levels and emphasize connections between curriculum areas in the PYP model;
2. Ensures the curriculum is implemented in a way that maximizes student learning and embraces the IB philosophy of learning;
3. Uses instructional practices that fosters learning for all students;
4. Participation in school co-curricular activities, events, professional development meetings, etc.;
5. Works collaboratively with the Chinese and English teaching staff;
6. Ensure student safety by performing supervisory duties at selected breaks and lunchtimes;
7. Maintaining a professional demeanor and regard for the image of the school and the support of colleagues in all activities, duties and requirements of the school as assigned by the Elementary School Principal and outlined in the policies of the school;
8. Other duties, as assigned by the Elementary School Principal.

Qualifications & Requirements
Ÿ Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required
Ÿ Fully qualified teacher status (licencesure and credentials for accredited program)
Ÿ A strong knowledge of differentiation strategies
Ÿ Successful experience as a Performing Arts teacher in a PYP classroom (preferred)
Ÿ English as mother tongue
Ÿ Open-minded, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a willingness to embrace a unique, multicultural school culture
Ÿ Must have an interest in living and working in China and at school that strongly supports and embraces Chinese language and culture
