Position Highlights:
Working in our state of the art, climate controlled facility; the Laundry Associate will be responsible for the operation of laundry equipment for the purpose of processing and distribution of all hospital and contracted linens in accordance with hospital-wide infection control, safety and departmental policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Dumps soiled linen from canvas buckets and sorts linen into like types utilizing cart dumper and conveyor system at the rate of 800- 1000 ponds and hour.
Loads and unloads 160 pound washers.
Feeds large sheets, contours, pillowcases and uniforms into flatwork ironer maintaining established productivity rates.
Sorts wet linen, and Stacks and separates linen from the flatwork ironer.
Folds and feeds Johnnies and towels into small piece folder maintaining established productivity rates.
Hand Folds and separates marked clean linen.
Reports linen supply shortages to Shift Leader or Supervisor.
Unloads Extractor and separates items for dryers and ironer.
Loads and unloads dryers.
Puts clean linen away on shelves or carts.
Inspects linen for wear, tears or stains.
Loads canvas buckets for transit to other facilities.
Counts, records and refills laundry exchange carts with linen.
Maintains clean work area; participates in general clean up.
Puts lab coats on hangers and separates them for areas marked.
May be required to operate a 24 ft automatic delivery Truck.
Assists with Tunnel operator functions as is determined by Supervisor.
The need determined may include, but not be limited to excessive backlog in soiled volumes, coverage for sick/vacation time, changes in census which may require additional volumes of linen over a short duration.
The ideal candidate will have:
High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
1 year or more prior experience
Proficiency in a suite of Microsoft Office applications
Must be self-directed and have strong verbal and oral communication skills
