We are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Tech to join our team at the Alfond Center for Health, a new state-of-the-art 192 bed hospital in Augusta, Maine. **This position is 40 hours per week with a varied schedule: includes every other weekend.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs duties related to delivery of pharmaceutical care including new medication ordering, processing, filling and delivery; replacement of unit stock; applicable billing procedures and replenishing of PYXIS med stations
  • Assists with maintaining accurate inventory and records for controlled drugs including periodic inventories
  • Processes IV medication orders and prepares intravenous admixtures (including chemotherapy using strict aseptic and protective techniques)
  • Assists with processing of ambulatory care prescriptions adhering to established policies and procedures

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred. Current State of Maine Pharmacy Tech or Pharmacy Intern license, or be eligible for required pharmacy technician licensure (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Board Certification (CPhT), preferred
  • At least 1 year of pharmacy experience in a hospital setting and/or retail setting, strongly preferred
  • Extensive customer service experience Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Computer proficiency
