The Administrative Assistant works in collaboration with the Nurse Manager and healthcare team. In this position, the ideal candidate provides assistance to patients, families, nurses, physicians and others on the unit. With minimum supervision you will prioritize and perform clerical duties. This role requires maintaining confidentially in preparing, compiling and maintaining medical records. This position includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays . A keen ability to excel in situations that demand tracking multiple tasks is a must.

Responsibilities:
Greets, directs and assists patients, families, visitors and others presenting on the unit.
Maintains strict confidentiality regarding patent information.
Serves as a resource to physicians, nurses and others on the unit, contacting consulting providers, assisting with electronic and paper health systems.
Prepares and maintains patient records for admission, transfer and discharge.
Demonstrates an advanced knowledge of the communication and support systems (i.e. copier, fax, printer, phones, pager); serves as a resource to others. Orders and stocks supplies
Performs special projects as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one year or more of experience.
Working knowledge of medical terminology required. Good interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast paced environment.
Experience with Microsoft applications
