The Helpline Specialist provides referrals and communicates available resources within the community to our aging and disabled adult population. It requires listening to the concerns and needs of the consumer, while eliciting the information necessary to provide accurate and unbiased information, guidance, advocacy and support.

This position is the first line of contact in providing the necessary resources and services to those in need. Work will be done primarily over the phone, with occasional face-to-face appointments. Accurate data entry skills, experience with Microsoft Office suite, and an ability to provide customer service over the phone are requirements of the position.

This position has the ability to be full-time or part-time. The salary range for the Helpline Specialist is $13.00 to $15.00 per hour.

• Ability to verbally communicate in a professional, non-judgmental manner, recognizing the consumer's right to choice.
• Ability to prioritize and stay on task in a high call volume environment.
• Resourceful in nature, with the ability to navigate, interpret and explain complicated Federal and State rules and regulations.
• Conscientious with a passion for quality work

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's in a social services field preferred
• Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience considered
• LSW or ability to get conditional license preferred
