WSP is currently initiating a search for a CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR for a highway interchange and ramp related construction project in the AUGUSTA, MAINE area, with a construction value ranging up to $20 million. Candidate will report to the Resident Engineer, to monitor and report on daily construction activities. Ideal candidate will assist the resident engineer with construction administration activities such as submittal, or shop drawing review, RFI review and resolution, quantity tracking or reconciliation and pay estimate review, participating in job meeting reviews and assisting with meeting minute preparation, coordination of materials sampling and testing, survey verification, and other similar tasks as assigned. Elements to be inspected or monitored may include full depth road box reconstruction, utilities, storm drainage, excavation and fills, revetments, wetlands mitigation or restoration, paving, milling or reclaimed pavement, signage, guardrails, striping, maintenance of traffic, pile driving, cofferdams, cast-in-place concrete, waterproofing, maintenance or traffic and other similar activities. Experience Qualifications:
  • 5 + years experience required in highway construction inspection and documentation
  • Certifications preferred include NETTCP (Northeast Testing Technician Certification Program) for hot mix asphalt, soils, or concrete, ACI (American Concrete Institute) Level I or any level of NICET certifications
  • Department of Transportation training from any state will be considered in lieu of NETTCP, ACI and NICET, subject to client approval
  • Site Manager, Field Manager or APPIA software experience is a plus
Starting salary dependent on combination of education, experience and certifications. Meals, lodging and mileage available on a project to project basis.
