In this position, the ideal candidate will be an integral part of a strong and innovative multidisciplinary team of oncology specialists including physicians, clinical nurse navigators, and other highly trained professionals. In addition to working within the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care, this position will include some travel providing support to satellite clinics. Candidates with experience in psychosocial oncology, palliative care, and end-of- life counseling are encouraged to apply!
Responsibilities:
Participating as a core member of the multidisciplinary medical caregiving team for cancer patients and their loved ones throughout the continuum of care from diagnosis and treatment to survivorship or advanced illness.
Utilizing best evidence based practice to provide psychosocial assessment and therapeutic interventions including psychotherapy, psychosocial education, and resource connection
Provide interventions to help patients manage information, decision making, and problem solving while optimizing communication with the medical team, work, family, and friends.
Ongoing professional development and collaboration to enhance and expand therapeutic and supportive services offered to patients and family, such as support groups, educational programs, and community outreach.
The ideal candidate will have:
Maine state licensure as an LCSW required.
