Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing new project.

Context

The position is for an academic exchange program hosted in Shanghai. The aim of this academic exchange program is to provide international university students with a semester-long academic experince in Shanghai, and exposure to business practices in Asia.

The role of the Student Liaison Officer is critical to ensure that students have a point of reference they can turn to for academic and life related questions.

Reporting Line

The Student Liaison Officer (Intern) reports to the Program Director (foreigner) and company owner (Chinese).

Job Location
Office is located 5 minutes walk from West Yan'an Rd metro station, lines 3 and 4. Physical presence is expected From at least every Mondays to Wednesdays from 9am to 5.30pm, and flexible time can be arranged on the remaining days. Availability by phone is expected the rest of the week.
The Student liaison officer will have an office on-site in the host school.

Job Purpose
To provide a high level support service for the foreign students in order to enhance their University experience.

Key Accountabilities
¥ Ensure the provision of a first point of contact for students with issues of a non-academic nature.
¥ Be responsible, in cooperation with the direction of the host school, for the issuing of students’ visa documentation.
¥ Liaise with the Admissions Office in order to provide pre-arrival information for applicants.
¥ Develop good working relationships with host school staff as necessary.
¥ Organize the preparation and delivery of paperwork for students (i.e. bank letters and visas).
¥ Ensure students personal details are logged in with the host school and kept up to date.
¥ Coordinate the induction, orientation and registration sessions for new students.
¥ Be available to foreign students in-situ, and by phone, to provide them with advisory and information to enhance their experience in Shanghai.
¥ Liaise with the host school administration to ensure classrooms availability.
¥ Liaise with foreign professors to ensure clarity regarding teaching schedules.
¥ Advise students where to get further help or advice.
¥ Accompany the students during the planned 2-day study trip.
¥ Pro-actively serve as a bridge between the host school administration and the owners of the company organizing the exchange program.
¥ Engaging proactively with students with all aspects of this role.
¥ Respond to and resolve student problems and incidents, including liaison with the host school and Residence partners staff.
¥ Track and record student attendance to classes and reporting any issues to the Academic staff.
¥ Responsible for the program emergency contact phone.
¥ Your job title does not define or limit your duties and you may be required to carry out other work within
your abilities from time to time at our request.
¥ We reserve the right to introduce changes in line with technological developments which may impact upon your job duties or methods of working.
¥ At certain times of the program some evening and weekend work will be required as part of this role and a flexible approach to working hours will be expected.

¥ Capable of initiatives taking and creativity

¥ Good autonomy
Appreciated, but not required: French language


The ideal profile would be a student currently at the dissertation stage and no longer having to attend classes.


Period of work & monthly stipend
This is an internship for 4 months, starting February 6th, 2017 and finishing June 6th2017. This internship could possibly lead to a FULL-TIME position.
The intern will be provided with a stipend of RMB 3,500 per months, with a possibility for a performance-related bonus of RMB 3,500 at the end of the program.
