Job Description
island6 Arts Center is currently seeking a Cameraman/Filmmaker to contribute to our team.

island6 is an artist-founded, artist-run project, managed by voluntary staff, and based in Shanghai’s M50 Arts District with a production site and an adjoining gallery for new media artwork.

Candidates should be reliable, self-motivated, and highly knowledgeable of all stages of film production, as well as related equipment, and eager to learn new software.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- documenting performances and sets to be used in Liu Dao’s multimedia artworks
- documenting and producing “making of” videos and exhibition films
- filming and photographing island6 events and gallery operations
- acting as foley artist for all of the above
- editing and polishing the video footage produced from the above
- taking initiative and learning to contribute to the Liu Dao collective in multiple ways

We are looking for candidates who are serious about developing a career in the art industry. Punctuality, professionalism, and passion for art is key to a successful partnership with island6.

Requirements:
- Already residing in Shanghai
- Student/ Business visa (no tourist visas, please)
- High competency in oral English
- Hours: six days a week, from 11am – 7pm. Must be able to work weekends.
- Willing to work events and openings
- Exceptional initiative, attention to detail, and follow-though skills
- Can easily handle deadlines and pressure
