island6 is an artist-founded, artist-run, "art first" not-for-profit organization founded and based in Shanghai’s M50 Arts District with a production site and an adjoining gallery for new media artwork. island6 galleries are devoted to displaying the cutting-edge, multimedia artwork of the Liu Dao art collective, which specializes in fusing new media techniques with traditional Chinese mediums.

island6 is currently seeking a Sound Designer to contribute to our team.

Candidates should be reliable, self-motivated, and knowledgeable of all stages of composition and technical sound production.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Composing and recording musical scores for island6 internal productions
- Designing and producing Liu Dao sound artworks
- Assisting in producing internal “making of” videos and exhibition films

We are looking for candidates who are serious about developing a career in the art industry. Punctuality, professionalism, and passion for art is key to a successful partnership with island6.

Requirements:
- Already residing in Shanghai
- A passion for art and collaboration
- Ability to create original compositions, knowledge of foley and technical sound production
- Hours: six days a week, from 11am – 7pm. Must be willing to work weekends.
- Willing to work events and openings
- Student/ Business visa (no tourist visas, please)
- High level in oral English
