Responsibilities

The Bruker BioSpin Group currently has a new opportunity based in Shanghai, China for a New Business Development Manager to develop and lead sales activities focusing on the Biotech and Pharmaceutical market segments.
  • Develop sales of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (NMR) Division in Biotech/Pharmaceutical (BPH) market segments, in close coordination with NMR BPH market management, reporting to Sales Director, China
  • Deliver NMR BPH solutions from end-to-end of the pharma value chain and position NMR as a value added supplier.
  • Achieve and deliver annual and quarterly growth in new order bookings, revenue, and brand image according to NMR annual and quarterly objectives, with a clear focus on new customers and accounts.
  • Grow BPH new order booking and revenue in the territory allocated with the identified (new) customers and accounts for all BPH solutions.
  • Build sustainable business partnerships with (new) customers in the BPH industry, especially in pharma segments not yet served by the NMR Division.
  • Successfully articulate and present the value proposition of the different BPH solutions, at all levels, including executive customer level.
  • Understand the customer’s value chain, critical success factors, and key initiative based on which the account plan and sales strategy is developed. Communicate how the NMR BPH solutions address customer’s needs.
  • Proactively introduce new solutions in the BPH portfolio to new customers and adjacent market segments.
  • Actively contribute to lead generation and qualification. Nurture qualified leads towards budget definition, offer definition and contract negotiation. Manage opportunities and close deals in adjacent market segments.
  • Study all aspects of BPH market, including technology development, business opportunities, government policy and industrial regulations, in order to promote sales of Bruker NMR and EPR solutions to BPH adjacent markets, in close collaboration with BBIO NMR/EPR Sales teams and pharma market management.
  • Negotiate and close sales contracts in the designated area for new customers and adjacent markets, following the processes defined by the NMR Sales organization. Including generation of system, console and accessory quotes as required.
  • Work closely with divisional pharma product development and market management team. Support business operation team, marcom, service engineers and application specialists to complete the delivery, installation and payment procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Strong background in analytical technology, ideally with knowledge of NMR spectrometers, related accessories and solutions.
  • Master degree/PhD in chemistry, related science disciplines or equivalent working experience.
  • Work experience focusing on sales, account management, business growth, lead generation and nurturing is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal, written, computer, technical, communication, proposal and presentation skills, including advanced level MS Office proficiency. Familiarity with SalesForce, SAP and CRM desirable.
  • Fluency in Chinese and English required. Additional language fluency an advantage
  • Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state required.
  • Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel.
  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.
