Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited (NAMI) was established in 2006 and designated by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the Hong Kong SAR Government as an R&D Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials. NAMI has a very strong team of over 170 professional researchers and 30,000 sq ft. laboratory with state-of-the-art equipment and facilities in the Hong Kong Science Park. NAMI conducts market-driven research on nanotechnology and advanced materials, supporting the local industries in developing and commercializing new technologies.

Duties:
Implement procurement strategies and procedures to support the Institute’s operations and governance compliance;

Liaise with internal clients to analyze business needs and assist to develop procurement strategy;

Conduct effective sourcing, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, purchasing, contracting and supplier performance management;

Provide advice to internal clients on procurement related policies and procedures and best practices regarding purchasing activities, tactics and contractual terms; and

Prepare and follow up tendering and purchasing document independently.

Requirements:
Degree in Business Administration, Management and/or possess professional qualifications in Purchasing, Supply Management or in any related disciplines;

At least 10 years' solid relevant experience, in which 2 years or above at supervisory level in sizable organizations. Previous working experience in public services and/or NGOs is an advantage but not a must;

Experience in procurement of scientific/technological equipment and consumables will be an advantage;

Be capable of dealing with internal clients at all levels independently;

Possess strong analytical, interpersonal and negotiation skills, a high level of integrity, independent and self-motivated;

Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and

Familiar with PC operations, e.g. MS Word, Excel.

Salary and Benefit:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave will be provided. Appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
