The appointee will work in the Systems Section. He/She will be responsible for developing library web-based service programs, managing desktop PCs and computer servers, and administering shared integrated library system. The appointee may be required to work irregular hours occasionally.

Applicants should have a recognised Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT related disciplines. He/She should have good knowledge in (i) IT and systems infrastructure, (ii) developing web programs using ASP, Java, JSP, Perl, PHP, VBScript, (iii) developing and maintaining MySQL databases, (iv) implementing and maintaining Windows/Linux/VMWare/NAS severs.

Good communication and interpersonal relations, excellent analytical and organisational skills, service-oriented work attitude as well as ability to participate well in team work are essential. Applicants with three years or more work experience may apply for the post of Information Technology Officer. University fresh graduates and those with less work experience are welcome to apply for the post of Assistant Information Technology Officer.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
