Job Description

The Role

The role is part of the Reuters PR and Communications team that manages all communications, PR and marketing for the business.

Reporting to the VP Communications, the role leads all communications for the Asia region and requires experience of crisis communications, internal communications, digital activity, publicity, events and marketing.

The post-holder will work with senior stakeholders in the region to devise and implement strategies to enhance Reuters reputation across the territory.

The role is responsible – with support from the VP Communications and Senior Director, Communications - for managing complex reputational issues that arise in the region, overseeing broadcast requests, proactively pitching for media interviews and also handling invitations for participation by Reuters journalists at internal and external events.

It is also responsible for promoting the Reuters brand to sales staff and clients by contributing to the Reuters Best programme, global and regional marketing materials and communicating key messages on Reuters wins internally.

The role oversees many aspects of communications and so requires a confident self-starter, able to manage senior stakeholders, work autonomously at times and use their initiative to lead issues and generate strategies.

The post-holder will be our team’s lead and expert in Asia, so the role requires a thorough understanding of the Asian market and its media, as well as an understanding of Reuters’ presence and output there.
