Design Director - Shanghai (Architecture / Interior Design)
After placing a Studio Director into this firm there are now further opportunities to build the team with a key hire, for a Design Director level candidate with a strong Hospitality portfolio, with either an architectural or interiors edge.
As a Design Director in China you will provide design leadership by giving clients terrific service, continually improving the design quality, guiding designers in their careers and working profitably for the firm.
It goes without saying that at this level you should:
- Excel in creativity and innovation
- can lead the design of major hospitality architecture / interior projects
- understands trends in architecture design
- have extensive knowledge of clients' business
- the ability to build/sustain client relationships
- energy, drive, total commitment to design excellence
- the ability to develop talent, motivate people, champion great design and act as a role model
- Architecture Design degree - with an advanced degree a plus.
- Approx 10+ years of related experience with track record in a major international design firm
- Evidence of top leadership in at least 10 large-scale projects over the past five years.
- Publications, lectures, speaking engagements and awards a plus.
- Knowledge of/Qualifications in sustainable design or applicable building code will be an advantage.
- Strong organizational, communication and presentation skills.
- Preferably proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, 3D Studio, Sketchup and free hand sketches.
