The Senior Director of Supply Management for GCM will be primarily responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for all Procurement related direct and indirect goods and services, as well promoting compliance to preferred suppliers and products. Developing new and existing growth streams across the region will also be critical to this role which will see group purchasing model growth with Hilton Franchisee hotels, independent & third party Hotel groups. Supporting owners with Pre Opening support will also form a key part of this role and related growth opportunities.

In this position the Senior Director will lead the Category & regional team charged with creating and executing strategies to drive price savings, growth, increase program participation, manage supplier performance, and reduce supplier risk for the all strategic and regionally sourced categories. Responsibilities will also include establishing annual Procurement savings targets, growth targets as well as developing, evaluating, and monitoring strategic supplier relationships, and facilitating further partnership. Promoting compliance to corporate Supply management and finance policies and processes will also be a key aspect of the role.


Other key priorities are listed below:


  • Identify critical success factors to ensure HSM outputs meet stakeholder requirements and purchasing needs
  • Work directly with Operators, Owners, Brand teams & functional leads to understand strategic priorities and goals and leverage them to develop future procurement plans
  • Oversee the establishment of Procurement Strategies and tactics across the region.
  • Ensure the Procurement teams work effectively across the many cultures and markets in region.
  • Oversee the management of the GCM Procurement team and monitor their performance
  • Oversee coordination with the Source-to-Contract Center of Excellence (S2C COE) to prepare and execute sourcing activities (research, RFPs, contract negotiations, etc.)
  • Develop key partnerships and processes to ensure the department can function in a streamlined, efficient manner
  • Oversee all departmental metrics and goals for the regional team to ensure that department goals stay on track
  • Develop strategies and activities for group purchasing participation and fee based new build and renovation Project procurement leading to program growth.
  • Oversee the development of plans to address risks and issues as they arise
  • Responsible for reporting financial goals and metrics to HSM SLT.
  • Develop CSR and responsible sourcing strategies and activities for the region in coordination with the HSM Responsible Sourcing leader.
  • Develop the regional team into a high performance group that takes accountability for performance and delivery of projects
  • Conduct compliance training for procurement staff, requestors and other stakeholders
  • Oversee periodic testing of internal controls and systems
  • Oversee the development and implementation of procurement strategies designed to reduce costs, improve product and service quality and expedite delivery
  • Optimize the use of technology to streamline procurement processes in partnership with HSM Centre of Excellence and Business Application teams.
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) and requests for quotes (RFQs) from subcontractors and suppliers in support of the business development function
  • Foster and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers; establish and monitor new relationships as well
  • Prepare the annual budget for the department
  • Stay abreast of market trends, accounting and auditing standards, and new commercial rules and best practices
  • Partner with Legal and Contracts departments to draft and negotiate subcontracts and complex procurement agreements
  • Ensure all spend on direct materials, indirect materials, energy, and capital projects is within scope
  • Oversee the procurement function including, ensuring purchasing documents are in compliance with US legislation and indeed local laws, rules and regulations; resolving high profile issues; informing management of changes to regulations, policies and procedures
  • Implement and manage an effective and efficient scorekeeping methodology for the company’s global procurement activities
  • Evaluate and identify internal and external business opportunities.
  • Facilitate the consolidation and procurement of products and services to realize economies of scale through reduced product and acquisition costs worldwide
  • Work with key stakeholders, hotels, operating disciplines, and brand management, structuring the resources and activities of Procurement so objectives are accomplished across all operating modules
  • Build relationships, and leverage them to establish effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure procurement department goals and objectives are effectively managed and achieved
  • Oversee proper controls to ensure compliance to brand standards and specifications are achieved.
  • Oversee and evaluate technology and systems as they relate to the regions Procurement’s strategic objectives
  • Ensure top level talent is in place within the organization; develop current talent to achieve greater strategic goals and performance
  • Determine staffing needs and oversee the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training, and developing of department Team Members
  • Work with direct reports on goals to assist in accomplishing department initiatives, and their own career objectives
  • Provide direction and leadership to Procurement Team Members

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Fluent English and Chinese language skills verbal and Written
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 10 years of experience from working in a related career
  • Minimum Years of Experience: 7 years of related work experience
  • Management Experience (type): Director level experience; Management of entire department
  • Minimum Years of Management Experience: A minimum of seven (5) years of work experience managing team members in International sourcing, logistics and procurement.
  • Experienced in working with internal CSR teams and related Supply management programs and initiatives. Familiar with Responsible sourcing activities and strategies.
  • Experience, direct responsibility and accountability, for managing spend of $250m or greater.
  • Expert in setting and enforcing procurement standards, policies, and objectives
  • Experience with Zero-Based Budgeting methodology and processes
  • Contract closing, prospecting, and complex negotiation skills
  • Good understanding of the hotel customer and clients
  • Ability to travel as required (up to 50%)
  • Additional Requirements (i.e. % of travel time, etc.): Ability to travel as necessary


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Education: MA/MS Degree
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in sourcing and procurement
  • A minimum of six (6) years of work experience in an Executive level role
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in supply chain or sourcing and procurement management consulting
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Hotel Hospitality sourcing and procurement
  • Strong experience with Zero-Based Budgeting methodology and processes
  • Guru on contract closing, prospecting, and complex negotiation skills

- Global experience advantageous - Regional APAC experience preferred.
