The Marketing Manager role is responsible for the execution of outlined marketing strategy and campaigns aiming at libraries, institutions, hospitals, corporations and government agencies in China, to drive growth in B2B markets in China. Using analysis of existing customer data, external institutional data resources, internal knowledge, collaboration with Sales colleagues, and personal market research, the Marketing Manager's main remit is to create and execute a strategy focused on opportunities for revenue growth in China.

Using analysis of existing customer data, external institutional data resources, internal knowledge, collaboration with Sales colleagues, and personal market research, the Marketing Manager's main remit is to create and execute a strategy focused on opportunities for revenue growth in China.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure an increase/growth in metrics including: Revenue, lead generation, digital engagement, usage, customer feedback, content marketing opt in/downloads, likes/shares/links of social media engagement
  • Create and deploy regular marketing campaigns to librarians in China with the aim of generating leads, upselling, and creating new business opportunities
  • Plan and implement regular librarian support / usage campaigns, collaborate with eBook Sales team for these activities and ensure that campaigns are scheduled in advance and all campaign trackers are kept accurate and up-to-date
  • Monitor and analyse sales patterns and other performance measures to build marketing strategies and tactics
  • Assist the Marketing Director in managing priorities across the team
  • Align the focus and priorities of their team with the wider global marketing team
  • Build effective long-term & strategic relationships both internal (editorial, sales, production, etc.) and external (e.g. librarians, distributors, institutions, etc.) stakeholders
  • Plan and manage resources to deliver objectives and ensure return on investment
  • Lead, performance manage and monitor direct reports, with a sharp focus on achieving outcomes; foster a culture of high-level performance, motivation, quality, efficiency and innovation in the team, helping to encourage new ideas and constructive feedback
  • Oversee team calendar of tasks/responsibilities
  • Prepare marketing collaterals to support sales activities
  • Replicate global marketing best practice and localize to target China market
  • Manage marketing tactics from implementation and delivery to analysis, ensuring targets are met across multiple benchmarks
  • Maintain and develop an awareness of market landscape, including competition analysis, customer insights, technology advancement and academic trends; share findings with the team.

Knowledge and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Degree level or equivalent professional qualification
  • Proven track record of goal-achievement in a marketing role
  • Successful experience in managing a product portfolio or customer channel
  • Demonstrable customer and commercial awareness " including the competitive environment, potential partner organisations and market trends.
  • Proficient in written and speaking English
  • Experience in publishing industry is a big plus
