About Animal Health Business

Job Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Section Chief in Microbiology for a veterinary diagnostic laboratory serving production animal species (swine, poultry, dairy, small ruminants and pet (equine).
  • Performs and directs routine diagnostic testing with minimal supervision. Develops and participates/assists in the execution of non-routine experiments.
  • Performs all work in conformance with applicable regulations. Performs all work in a safe and timely manner.
  • Manages case submissions and projects, not limited to communications, testing procedures, outcomes and timely reports with any required interpretations.
  • Initiate and complete customary procedures, case submissions and projects in an efficient manner and supervise laboratory staff in lab testing roles. Lab testing roles including sample receiving, storage, testing and information entry into LIMS.
  • Demonstrate technical ability to create and execute non-routine experiments and procedures to meet the demands of customers and internal R&D.
  • Demonstrate the ability to correctly analyze, interpret and troubleshoot outcomes of laboratory results and experiments.
  • Create needed SOPs and workflow and throughput to meet customer and internal needs in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Comply with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner; maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Qualifications
  • Education/Degree Requirements: PhD degree or equivalent in microbiology, veterinary science or related disciplines relative to animal and/or human health. Master or bachelor degree in veterinary medicine/laboratory animal or related.
  • Major: microbiology, veterinary science or related disciplines
  • Language skills & proficiency: English (verbal and written), Science and health terminology
  • Required capabilities (skills, experience, competencies): 1-2 years or above working experience in diagnostic laboratory or related filed; ISO, CNAS and/ or CMA experience is preferred.
