Applications for full-time teaching and course development position in the Language Unit are now invited. The successful applicant will join a collaborative and proactive team and will help to formulate the Unit’s approach to Chinese language provision as part of the Academy’s current curriculum review, oversee the development of course materials at undergraduate degree and sub-degree levels, and coordinate part-time teachers in course delivery.

Applicants should:

• possess a Master’s degree in Chinese language or related discipline;
• have minimum of 3 years experience in teaching at post-secondary education sector in Hong Kong;
• have a proven track record in developing classroom-learning materials that are student-centred, communicative and outcome-based;
• be fluent in Putonghua and Cantonese;
• preferably have experience in teaching classic and contemporary Chinese literature; and
• preferably have experience or an interest in art or performing arts.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

Appointment will be on a 2-year contract. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Subject to negotiation, the expected commencement date is early August 2019.
