Job Description

This role will be based in our studio in Shanghai. We are looking for a talented and driven individual to help up develop our business in the region with a specific focus on China, Japan, Singapore and Australia. This person will be motivated to explore and exploit this market to help us maintain our position at the forefront of creative content creation.

By drawing on the capabilities of our team in Shanghai and our global network of studios, or through identifying new technology or talent, we aim to grow our core business and expand our creative and technical services offering to add value to what we can do for our clients and expand our client base.

Our client base is comprised of production companies, advertising agencies, brands and film companies.

We typically work on a project basis.

Responsibilities

  • Agree revenue and EBITDA targets with Shanghai MD.
  • Work closely with Shanghai MD to engage with our existing local and global client base to ensure we are meeting their needs in the region. Look for opportunities to build and strengthen our relationship through a broader offering of our creative services
  • Work closely with Shanghai MD and global business development leads to identify, engage with and develop new prospective clients, seeking out new commercial opportunities and relationships across production companies, advertising agencies and direct with brands. Focus on engaging direct with brands as far as is possible, addressing both marketing and procurement departments.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with our creative and production teams to pitch for and secure new opportunities.
  • Identify industry trends and collaborate and coordinate with our global teams (Management, Marketing, Creative, Technology, Finance) to support the development of MPC products, proprietary tools and technology solutions for our clients.
  • Monitor the performance of new initiatives with Shanghai MD; test/learn/refine accordingly.
  • Contribute to related industry events and publications as an advocate and thought-leader.
  • Work closely with the local and global marketing team to deliver effective communication and messaging in support of MPC initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Sales and/or Marketing.
  • Proven track record of driving new business revenue for creative ideas and content, VFX, post-production and/or a creative technology-related business in Asia.
  • In-depth understanding of and networked in the region’s marketing landscape, especially in relation to brands, agencies, content creation and creative technology.
  • Strategic and commercially-minded with strong business acumen.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills.
  • Confident and engaging written and verbal communicator, able to build relationships at all levels.
  • Skilled at working effectively with multi-discipline teams
  • International experience i.e. used to working on projects and initiatives across multiple offices and locations, would be advantageous
  • Happy to travel extensively if required.
  • Passion for emerging and future technology in content production and delivery.
