Job Description

The Academic Services Office, Registry (ASO) of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts is a central administrative office supporting staff, students, senior management and external stakeholders through its administrative functions that span the study life of post-secondary, undergraduate and postgraduate students from admission to graduation, covering areas of admission and enrolment, programme and course registration, progression and graduation, central timetabling, and student records.

The postholder will provide executive support to the functions of the Academic Services Office, Registry. Main duties include administering the course registration of students, driving the handling and tracking of student academic records, working closely with student advisers and other internal stakeholders to assist in the resolution of student queries, preparing final grades for student progression and graduation, preparing documents and papers for Board and Committee meetings. The appointee may also be involved in other administrative functions within the Registry as deemed necessary.

Applicants should have:
(a) a degree from a tertiary institution, or equivalent;
(b) at least five years of relevant working experience in higher educational institutions or other relevant administrative setting;
(c) good command of spoken and written English and Chinese including Putonghua;
(d) good computer literacy with high proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of BANNER System and Degree Works would be an advantage;
(e) a proactive work attitude, self-motivated, mature, meticulous, responsible and the ability to work independently;
(f) good communication skills in a helpful and professional manner;
(g) good organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure;
(h) strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills; and
(i) a strong team working ethic.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year contract, with possibility of renewal, subject to mutual agreement. A gratuity payment equal up to 15% of basic salary earned during the contract period will be payable upon satisfactory completion of contract. Fringe benefits include leave, medical and dental benefits. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
