As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Business and Measurement & Analytics Business Line (BL) based in Shanghai. ABB is the World leader in Industrial Automation (IA) division delivers integrated solutions for control, plant optimization, and industry-specific application knowledge and services to help process industry customers worldwide to meet their critical business needs in the areas of operational profitability, capital productivity, risk management and global responsibility. These industries include oil and gas, power, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, metals, cement, minerals, marine and turbocharging.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Business and Measurement & Analytics Business Line (BL) based in Shanghai. Tasks
- Involved in the product (instrumentation) development for mechanical design, sample build and verification testing.
- Design tests to verify the design meet the technical requirements.
- Involved in mechanical related work e.g. material selection, mechanical stability and strength etc.
- Involved in the pilot run of the parts at supplier side and trial run at ABB factory for the product.

Requirements
- BS in mechanical engineering with min. 5 years of experience or MSc in mechanical engineering with minimum 2 years’ experience in R&D.
- Expert with the common used engineering materials related to manufacturing / processing.
- Familiar with design validation procedure of new product.
- Knowledge of the relationship of standards and products, and drafting verification program according to standards.
- Proficient in CAD, e.g. AutoCAD, UG or Pro-E, and MS office.
- Foreign enterprises R&D experience is preferred.
- Capable of reading and express technical solutions in English.
- A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
