POSITION SUMMARY

To be responsible for CSA design work for all assigned AP China executed IG B&E projects, ensure CSA design work executed smoothly in timely, cost effective and high-quality manner. and support team goal of Global engineering & design team.

The job holder is the Sr. Principle Civil/Structure Engineer and reports to Civil/Structure engineering Lead of Gasification directly.

The job holder is assigned to perform either in house CSA design or supervising the local design institute for CSA design for all IG B&E-China executed projects and providing as requested design support across the other countries. This position requires relative senior level of engineer who is able to perform the required CSA design responsibilities and provide proper judgment in reviewing third parties’ CSA design drawing. The job holder is also expected to provide CSA design and construction material estimation in supporting to PDE and support Civil/Structure team infrastructure building work as required.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Manage and perform various aspects of Civil/Structure design, including drawing and structural calculation for civil, structure and building. Perform site preparation review, soil investigation review, piling design/construction design review, design and calculation for equipment foundation, steel structure and buildings, etc.

2. Conduct Architecture/ HVAC/ firefighting/ Water supply & drainage/ plot plan design condition development and drawing review.

3. Be familiar with APCI Civil/Structure engineering standard, specification and international industry Civil/Structure engineering standard/code and local standard/code

4. Coordinate and communicate technical issues among various groups, including US and Europe and LDI.

5. Conduct civil/structure engineering and detail design work and CSA related construction cost estimation for projects executed in China and/or other countries as required. Review and feedback CSA basic and detail design drawing and spec completed by LDI or vendors

6. Support project proposal estimation, project execution, construction QA/QC, as build drawing. Initiate civil/structure design changes as necessary.

7. Support CSA team infrastructure building, including lesson learn sharing, technical issues solving, and low- cost design initiatives and coaching junior engineers/designers, etc.

8. Any other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Job Incumbent is expected to have minimum 12 years work experience in Civil/Structure Engineering for Coal Gasification, Coal Chemical, Oil and Gas, Chemical or Petrochemical related industry with China Design Institute or engineering company.

2. Job Incumbent is expected to have Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structure Engineering

3. Job Incumbent is expected to have certain management skills and with 5-years’ experience in supervising a team with the scale of several persons.

4. Working level for both written and spoken English.

5. Job Incumbent is expected to prepare civil related technical documents, drawings, specification and cost estimation, either by in-house design or reviewing contractor’s design deliverables.

6. Job Incumbent is expected to be skillful in drawing, calculation and design with S3D, AutoCAD, PK/PM series & Staadpro software

7. Job Incumbent is expected to be able to travel to site as required.

8. Job Incumbent is expected to well understand China local CSA engineering design code and be familiar with international standards and codes

9. Job Incumbent is expected to familiar with engineering special structures, such as: water pool, pipe rack, foundation for large dynamic machine.
