Senior Teacher Professional Development and Training (TWN-S-2013)

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The British Council Taiwan has two teaching centres, one in the Xin Yi area of Taipei which holds classes for Primary, Secondary and Adult learners, and one in Shipai area which focuses on Primary and Secondary.

We are looking for a Senior Teacher Learning and Development to be based in our Shipai centre. You will collaborate with teachers and managers across the two centres, and more broadly within the East Asia Region, to help maintain our position as a leading provider of English language services in Taiwan.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AND WHY

You will be required to ensure a high level of engagement within the teaching centre teams at both centres. You will also liaise with the YL and Adult Senior Teachers to deliver effective training days, INSETTs and training courses. This role also requires the successful applicant to have line management experience to effectively line manage up to 6 members of staff.

This is a challenging role and you will need a strong customer focus, experience in management positions and the ability to effectively deliver high quality training to teachers.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The post holder should have at least four years teaching experience in both Young Learners and Adults, and teacher training experience in TYLEC, CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and DELTA / Trinity DipTESOL. It is also desirable that the applicant has experience in managing teachers’ performance and line management experience.
