Duties

The appointee will be required but not limited to:
  • manage virtual server environments;
  • setup, configure and monitor Windows and Linux servers;
  • perform database administration and system support tasks;
  • assist to implement and manage document management and workflow system;
  • administer and operate network and security infrastructure e.g. router, switch, Wi-Fi, firewall and virtual private network;
  • implement IT security controls and conduct security operations;
  • perform systems backup, restoration and disaster recovery drill configuration and validation;
  • develop and review of the existing operation procedures and guidelines;
  • provide technical advice to end users e.g. staff and student representatives via phone, emails and meetings;
  • provide after-office-hour standby/emergency support duties as and when required; and
  • perform other duties as assigned by Head of ITSO or his/her delegates; and
Requriements
Applicants should:

  • possess a recognized degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines;
  • have at least 5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in higher education environment;
  • have knowledge and solid experience in VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, System Center Configuration Manger, SQL Server, SharePoint Server, CentOS and Oracle system administration;
  • be resourceful in document management and workflow system deployment would be helpful;
  • have good understanding and relevant experience in voice and data network architectures, TCP/IP protocols, VoIP, data communications equipment and LAN technologies;
  • have strong troubleshooting abilities;
  • have good interpersonal and communication skills; and
  • have strong sense of responsibility and able to work independently on projects as well as collaborate with the team.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
