Assistant Producer, Performing Arts (Theatre)

Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  • assisting in producing a diverse programme of theatre work for cultural exchange, creation, and public programming/projects;
  • coordinating artists/arts groups regarding theatre activities and theatre production;
  • working collaboratively with various Performing Arts teams and across division/departments for events and production logistics;
  • managing administrative duties of liaison and contractual work with service providers; consolidating meeting documents and presentation materials;
  • assisting in managing budget, compiling evaluation reports and funding acquittals;
  • liaising with ticketing team or relevant parties, assisting the Producer to set up seat plan for the shows, and manage the ticketing from set up to show dates; and
  • performing other duties and tasks as directed by supervisors.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in Performing Arts, Arts or Cultural Studies, Arts Management, Arts Education or equivalent;
  • have 4 - 5 years working experience, of which 3 years in arts and cultural field; good understanding of local theatre scene is preferred;
  • possess at least 2 years of experience in ticketing arrangement and coordination;
  • show good knowledge of Hong Kong’s and international performing arts scene;
  • be able to assist in production, coordination processes and production budgets for different performing arts activities and events;
  • demonstrate good knowledge of theatre programme design and production;
  • demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills with strong administrative and multi-tasking ability to work effectively with others and to provide coordination in a complex theatrical environment; and
  • have good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
