Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for identifying, developing and implement regional category strategy for assigned category in aligned with the global category strategy to achieve both cost saving and service performance targets.
  • Lead external logistics procurement in North Asia for transportation, warehousing, import/export forwarding to ensure quality on-time delivery of materials and services at a competitive cost and in compliance with company policy and process.
  • Initiate and drive spending productivity improvement and other logistics initiatives to leverage the buy, optimize distribution network, and streamline logistics arrangements.
  • Manage logistics supplier relationship to ensure distribution and transport services meet corporate core values of quality, safety, ethics, regulatory compliance and high environmental standards.
  • Overall management on logistics suppliers’ performance with supply chain team’s daily support to ensure suppliers performance.
  • Participate in global & AP regional Procurement network for implementation of global strategies, programs, training and functional best practices.
  • Work closely with North Asia supply chain team to ensure team remain focused on key deliverables, achieve their objectives and implement best practices. Ensure a robust approach to Supplier Performance Management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in procurement, logistics management, business, engineering etc. MBA desired but not required.
  • 8-10 years above experiences in Logistics operation and Logistics procurement for warehousing, transportation (trucking, barge and/or rail), and Import / Export forwarding etc. 5+ years in-depth strategic and operational procurement experience with a solid working knowledge of category management. Experience in chemical industry preferred.
  • Good knowledge of China logistics supply market in terms of country/international regulations & implementation, supplier situation and best practices. Knowledge and experience on logistics supply market in other Asian countries will be a plus.
  • Good experiences in managing logistics suppliers to provide quality services.
  • Proven capability in negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management.
  • Demonstrated capability of identifying and initiating logistics/supply chain optimization projects. Skilled and experienced in change and process improvement management as well as project and risk management. Be innovative to design and implement solution for complex problems.
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to determine own objectives and work plans in line with business objectives and functional directions.
  • Strategic thinker with leadership and networking skills to influence people with or without authority to work toward business and functional objectives
  • Ability to manage effectively in a global and matrix environment with team spirit.
