Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring qualified teacher to join our High School English department. The successful candidate will be passionate about English Language and Literature, committed to delivering an engaging British curriculum, and adept at fostering a love of learning in a diverse international student body.
Key Responsibilities
• Teaching & Learning:
◦ Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in English Language and Literature for students
◦ Prepare students for external examinations, including IGCSE, AS/A-Level, or equivalent.
◦ Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and support individual learning needs.
◦ Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
• Pastoral & Co-curricular:
◦ Act as a Form Tutor, supporting the pastoral care and academic progress of a group of students.
◦ Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme by leading or supporting clubs, activities, or literary events.
• Collaboration & Development:
◦ Work collaboratively within the English department and across the school community.
◦ Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development, and school events.
◦ Uphold the school's policies and ethos at all times.
Person Specification
• Essential Qualifications & Experience:
◦ Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
◦ A good honours degree in English or a closely related field.
• Skills & Attributes:
◦ Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English.
◦ Strong classroom management and communication skills.
◦ Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
◦ A collaborative, flexible, and positive professional attitude.
◦ Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
