Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and qualified Mathematics Teacher to deliver engaging and comprehensive mathematics education across primary and secondary levels. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore mathematical concepts, develop logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, and cultivate an appreciation for the beauty and application of mathematics. This role requires adaptability to teach within different school curricula while maintaining high standards of academic rigor and conceptual understanding.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons in Mathematics aligned with the school's international curriculum (e.g., IB PYP/MYP/DP, IGCSE, A-Level, AP Mathematics, or a standards-based international framework).
Teach a wide range of mathematical topics and skills—including but not limited to number theory, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and discrete mathematics—tailored to various age groups and proficiency levels, making connections to real-world applications.
Foster a supportive, inclusive, and intellectually stimulating classroom atmosphere where every student feels confident to ask questions, explore multiple solution paths, and develop mathematical resilience.
Integrate the history of mathematics, mathematical modeling, and critical thinking into the curriculum, exposing students to diverse mathematical thinkers, cultures, and the evolving nature of the discipline.
Develop students' abilities to analyze problems, construct logical arguments, communicate mathematical reasoning clearly, and apply knowledge to novel situations through formative and summative assessments.
Manage classroom resources effectively, including textbooks, manipulatives, graphing calculators, and educational software, ensuring an organized and technology-enhanced learning environment.
Organize and participate in school-wide mathematical events, such as math fairs, clubs, competitions (e.g., AMC, Math League), and student showcase events.
Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning needs, interests, and language proficiencies of students in a bilingual/multilingual setting.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Mathematics department and across other subject areas (e.g., Sciences, Economics, Art) to promote interdisciplinary learning and projects.
Maintain regular and proactive communication with parents regarding curriculum, student progress, and strategies for support.
Participate actively in professional development, departmental meetings, and school-wide initiatives focused on pedagogical innovation and student success.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).
A recognized teaching qualification/certification (e.g., PGCE, teaching license, QTS).
Minimum of 2-3 years of successful classroom teaching experience in Mathematics, preferably within an international K-12 school setting.
Strong proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is a significant advantage for collaboration and communication in the bilingual context.
Demonstrated deep content knowledge across the K-12 mathematics spectrum and the ability to inspire students of varying abilities.
Proficiency with educational technology tools relevant to mathematics instruction (e.g., graphing software, dynamic geometry tools, learning management systems).
Familiarity with one or more international mathematics curricula (e.g., IB, Cambridge, Common Core) and their assessment methodologies.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural competence skills.
Commitment to fostering a growth mindset in students, engaging in reflective practice, and pursuing ongoing professional learning in mathematics education.
We Offer:
A competitive international compensation and benefits package.
A vibrant, diverse, and supportive community of students, parents, and educators.
Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
The chance to contribute significantly to a rigorous and inspiring mathematics program within a unique multi-curriculum educational environment.
