Job Title: Chemistry Teacher

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and qualified Chemistry Teacher to deliver engaging and comprehensive chemistry education across primary and secondary levels. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the world of matter, its transformations, and its interactions with energy. They will help students develop strong analytical, practical, and critical thinking skills, fostering an appreciation for the role of chemistry in both local and global contexts. This role requires adaptability to teach within different school curricula while maintaining high standards of academic rigor and inquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, inquiry-based lessons in Chemistry aligned with the school's international curriculum (e.g., IB PYP/MYP/DP, IGCSE, A-Level, AP Chemistry, or a standards-based international framework).
Teach a broad spectrum of chemistry concepts, including but not limited to atomic structure, bonding, stoichiometry, kinetics, equilibrium, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, using real-world applications and engaging demonstrations.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom and laboratory environment where students feel confident to ask questions, collaborate, and develop their investigative skills.
Integrate the historical development of chemical ideas, contemporary issues (e.g., sustainability, materials science, pharmacology), and ethical considerations into the curriculum, highlighting the global nature of scientific challenges and innovations.
Develop students' abilities to design experiments, collect and analyze data, and draw evidence-based conclusions, assessed through practical work, lab reports, projects, and examinations.
Manage teaching and laboratory resources effectively, ensuring safe handling, storage, and maintenance of chemicals and equipment to provide an organized and effective learning space.
Organize and showcase student learning through displays, presentations, and participation in school-wide science events, fairs, competitions, or extracurricular clubs/activities.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, interests, and language proficiencies of students within a bilingual or multilingual setting.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues in the Science Department and other disciplines (e.g., Biology, Physics, Mathematics) to design and implement interdisciplinary learning experiences.
Maintain clear and regular communication with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and participation in class activities.
Participate actively in professional development opportunities, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a closely related field
Minimum of 2-3 years of successful classroom teaching experience in Chemistry, preferably within an international K-12 school setting.
Demonstrated subject matter expertise and a track record of effective teaching practice, supported by a portfolio or examples of lesson/unit plans and student work.
Strong knowledge of core chemical principles, laboratory techniques, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication, intercultural competence, and collaborative skills.
