Job Description:
As a high school teacher, you'll need to:
prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities
mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
prepare pupils for external examinations
manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply
appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour
undertake pastoral duties, such as taking on the role of homeroom teacher, and
supporting pupils on an individual basis through academic or personal difficulties communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress and participate in
departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole-school training events
participate in and organise extracurricular activities, such as elective programmes, outings, social activities, school concerts and sporting events
undergo regular observations and participate in regular in-service training as part of continuing professional development (CPD).
lesson preparation and collaborative planning;
assessment of / for students’ learning;
class decoration
contribute your expertise in a committee
supervising students during night study
participate in external accreditation exercise;
participate in weekend student recruitment activities (At least one Saturday or
Sunday a month for not more than 8 weekends a year.);
participate in the schools assembly programs
other tasks assigned by the school during official work hours
Educational Qualification:
At least a Bachelor of Science with specialty in Chemistry related field
Preferable Professional Qualification
PGCE
Postgraduate Degree in Education or Related Teaching Subject
A teaching license recognized by home country’s education ministry
Preferable Experience and Training:
Familiar with IGCSE syllabus and IB MYP concept-based teaching methodology. IGCSE related trainings
MYP related trainings
At least 3 years of teaching experience in the teaching subject applied for
Homeroom teacher experience
Track record of students’ academic results for IGCSE
