Position: High School English Teacher (English Acquisition & Literature)
Location: Shanghai, China
Start Date: August 2026
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School English Teacher with expertise in English Acquisition and the ability to teach English Literature. The successful candidate will join our international faculty in Shanghai and contribute to delivering high-quality English instruction within an inquiry-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English Acquisition and English Literature courses to high school students (Grades 9–12).
Design and implement engaging lessons that develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills.
Prepare students for international curricula such as IBDP, A-Level, or AP English.
Assess and monitor student progress in line with school and international standards.
Contribute to curriculum development and participate in collaborative planning with colleagues.
Support students in developing academic writing, critical thinking, and literary appreciation.
Participate in school activities, assemblies, and professional learning programs.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or above in English, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Minimum of 5 years’ relevant teaching experience, ideally in international or bilingual schools.
Proven experience in teaching IBDP / A-Level / AP / IGCSE English courses.
Strong understanding of second language acquisition and differentiated instruction.
Excellent communication, classroom management, and intercultural skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Native English-speaking country background.
Valid overseas teaching license or PGCE certification.
Experience in inquiry-based and student-centered teaching environments.
Master’s degree in English, Education, or Linguistics.
