Job Description

The **Global Perspectives Teacher** will deliver a dynamic and academically rigorous programme that develops students’ critical thinking, research, and communication skills within a bilingual Secondary School (ages 11–18).

The role focuses on equipping students with the ability to analyse global issues, evaluate multiple viewpoints, and communicate ideas effectively in English, preparing them for international pathways such as IGCSE, A Level, IB, or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver engaging **Global Perspectives lessons** that develop inquiry, research, and critical thinking skills
* Teach students to analyse **global issues** (e.g. sustainability, technology, culture, economics, politics) from multiple perspectives
* Develop students’ **academic English**, including essay writing, presentations, and structured debate
* Guide students through **research projects**, including source evaluation and referencing
* Support students in producing **extended written work and presentations** to international standards
* Collaborate with English and other subject departments to support **cross-curricular literacy and thinking skills**
* Prepare students for relevant qualifications (e.g. **Cambridge IGCSE Global Perspectives**, A Level, or similar courses)
* Provide timely and effective feedback to support student progress
* Contribute to the wider school through enrichment activities such as debate clubs, Model United Nations, or public speaking
* Engage with parents and contribute to the school’s international and bilingual ethos

**Requirements**

* Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant subject (e.g. Humanities, Social Sciences, English, Education)
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
* Experience teaching **Global Perspectives, Humanities, or related subjects** at Secondary level
* Familiarity with international curricula (e.g. Cambridge, IGCSE, IB, A Level)
* Strong understanding of **inquiry-based learning** and research skills development
* Ability to support students with varying levels of English proficiency (EAL experience preferred)
* Experience teaching academic writing and presentation skills
* Excellent classroom management and communication skills
* A collaborative and culturally aware approach to working in a bilingual/international setting
