Job Description
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or above in Science, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Science Education, or a closely related field.
• Valid teaching qualification/certification.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in secondary education
• Substantial teaching experience in at least one of the following programmes: CNC, IGCSE, A Level, or IBDP. Experience in both Chemistry and Biology is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Ability to teach integrated or general science across disciplines.
• Familiarity with inquiry-based and project-based learning approaches.
• Strong classroom management and differentiation skills.
• Fluent English communication skills (English as the primary language of instruction).
• Committed to the school’s mission, values, and educational philosophy.
Responsible for the following:
Teaching & Learning
• Deliver high-quality teaching in lower secondary science.
• Plan and deliver engaging inquiry-based lessons.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Develop students’ scientific thinking, inquiry skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Curriculum Development & Progression
• Contribute to curriculum planning, implementation, and review.
• Support curriculum continuity across year levels.
• Prepare students for progression into IGCSE or IBDP science programmes.
Assessment & Student Support
• Design and implement formative and summative assessments.
• Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
• Use assessment data to inform teaching and learning.
• Uphold academic integrity and follow school assessment policies.
Student Development & School Contribution
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
• Support extracurricular activities such as science clubs or competitions.
• Participate in parent communication, including conferences and reporting.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the school.
• Willingness to participate in school events and extended duties.
