Scope of Position:

Primary: to contribute to the success of DSMC operations, specifically in the areas of wellness programs, spa,

fitness, holistic health, physiotherapy, salon and medi-spa services. Also, the delivery of wellness through

general resort facilities, such as: nutrition (F&B); non-toxic housekeeping; and wellness-promoting design

and maintenance. Responsible for the development of systems, procedures, templates and action plans for

each project’s wellness offering. In pre-opening: contributing to concept development, and ensuring

efficient and effective set-up and training. In post-opening: overseeing quality control and continual

improvement of wellness operations.

Secondary: enhancing the profile of DSMC through credential building activities such as speaking at

conferences, writing articles and white papers, as well as training DSMC staff in wellness theory and practice.

Assisting the DSMC Projects Manager with any new pitches, and leading the technical side of any new

opportunities for spa consulting and management.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Active Projects

a. Lead the implementation of wellness elements for all DSMC consulting & management contracts.

b. Strictly follow contractual commitments and contribute to all terms being fully met, discussing any

deviations with DSM and the Project Manager for corrective action.

c. Assist in the development of project profit and loss projections, pre-opening budgets, inventory lists

and sourcing of products and equipment.

d. During Design and Construction phases contribute knowledge and ideas and input into all stages of

design for the wellness facilities.

e. Support preparation of detailed action plans for all aspects of wellness pre-opening activity,

including: menu of services, inventory, staffing, training, SOP manuals, computer system

implementation and onsite set up.

f. Suggest, obtain approval and implement pre-opening training programmes for wellness departments

and monitor progress to ensure all is on schedule and requirements are met.

g. Provide timely updates to all parties on actions.

h. Assist with recruitment and assessment of key project based wellness employees

i. Under guidance from DSM assist with the setup of departmental budgets and goals.

2. New Business Development:

Assistance in the sourcing, development and conversion of business leads, including:

a. Actively developing strategic partnerships & channels through which business leads can be received.

b. Building awareness and credibility of DSMC through expertise-promoting activities, such as: speaking

at conferences, writing articles, white papers, etc.

c. Supporting the Project Manager with any new leads and business conversion activities, such as:

market studies, positioning, business model and concept recommendations.

d. Take part in new business reviews and assist in bringing all leads to conclusion.

3. Client Relationships and Communications:

a. Actively support all client relationships and provide timely support to the Project Manager.

b. Be prepared for regular and one off client meetings, ensuring good written record of any action

plans and discussions.

c. Discuss any client relationship issues with the Project Manager and DSM.

d. Deal swiftly and responsibly with operational communications, ensuring the speedy distribution of

documents to the relevant people.

4. Other:

a. Improve technical knowledge of DSMC team through regular training and coaching.

b. Monitor the market for trends and competitive activity and recommend any changes that may be

made to the DSM models in response to market forces.

c. Provide ongoing advice and assist DSM in understanding the needs of the Chinese consumer.

d. Attend weekly management meeting with DSM team.

5. General

a. Report for duty punctually.

b. Provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

c. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.

d. Maintain a high standard of personal appearance, hygiene and professional dress at all times.

6. Occasional Duties:

a. Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Applicant Specifications:

1. Minimum Bachelor Degree or above in related field

2. At least 5 years hospitality management experience

3. Proven ability in managing projects and client relationships.

4. Ability to prepare budgets and review financial performance.

5. Good leadership and management skills.

6. Excellent in English (reading, listening and speaking).

7. Take a personal interest in all things “wellness” promoting this also to Zhidao and DSMC team.
