Major Function

Responsible for providing local (Asia – China, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.) support to sourcing, quality, engineering, marketing and Toro manufacturing plants.

Quality

• Conduct routine visits with current suppliers to ensure the quality system is being followed in the suppliers daily manufacturing processes and that parts are made according to print.

• Monitor supplier quality and delivery performance. If a Toro quality notification has been issued to the supplier, work with the supplier to implement a corrective action.

• Assess potential/new supplier quality systems and ensure Toro's expectations on quality and delivery are clear and can be met.

• Participate in sourcing processes related to supplier selection and approval, supplier training, quality planning, performance improvement and supplier certification with Asia based suppliers.

• Participate on cross-functional teams with US-based coworkers to assess new and existing suppliers’ capabilities, strengths, opportunities for improvement and risk to Toro in all areas of their business management and quality processes.

• Provide written and oral English / Chinese interpretation support as needed during the implementation of the sourcing processes.

• Lead the New Supplier Mentoring process during a supplier's first year in the business relationship with Toro. Includes review of Toro's business processes, performance expectations and use of e-sourcing tools.

• Provide production startup support to the supplier during initiatives such as Advanced Product Quality Planning and 1st Production Witness Audits.

• Provide ongoing production support such as random source inspections, failure analysis support, follow up as a result of corrective action requests and routine performance reviews.

• Collaborate with the Toro sourcing quality organization to identify key and/or problem suppliers in need of performance improvement or developmental activities.

Sourcing and Project Management

• Provide key communications and coordination of Toro plants, engineering, sourcing, quality and suppliers during new project development stage.

• Communicate with existing suppliers on parts forecasting to ensure suppliers have enough lead-time and capacity to satisfy Toro production requirements.

• Review suppliers' performance and manage supplier relationship. Promote a long-term Toro-supplier partnership based on the understanding of mutual benefit.

• Identify and develop new sources of material and finished parts to meet the Toro cost reduction goal.

• Conduct RFQ (request for quotation) and apply TCO (total cost ownership) methodology to analyze globally sourced parts.

职位要求 Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical Engineering or related field. MBA preferred.

• Minimum of two (2) years’experience in global sourcing and/or quality.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.

• Strong leadership, relationship building, facilitation, negotiation and presentation skills.

• Strong analytical abilities and research skills.

• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

• Understanding of enterprise purchasing and planning systems such as SAP and business

  warehouse.

• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

• Previous machining and/or casting experience is preferred.

• Skilled in the assessment of manufacturing processes in multiple industries.

• Working knowledge in TS 16949, lean manufacturing, failure analysis, quality planning, auditing, failure mode effect analysis and reliability analysis is preferred.

• ASQ certification, or equivalent, in the areas of Quality Auditing, Quality Engineering, Reliability, Six Sigma Black Belt, or Quality Management is preferred.
