KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. This person will join an established R&D team in Finisar Shanghai that has good track record of delivering high quality products supporting Finisar’s leadership position in the market.

2. Primary responsibility is Design and Development of Fiber Optic transceiver modules, primarily 10 Gbit/s – 100 GBit/s. This includes hardware analog & digital circuit and PCB design, some simulations and modeling, and characterization of optical and electrical performance.

3. Take a technical leadership position in a team of engineers from R&D, Product Engineering and NPI to coordinate all technical aspects of the product design including mechanical, electrical, firmware and optical.

4. Participate in co-development with teams in the US. Engage with customers for spec discussions, problem solving, and sometimes field visit. Some (not frequent) traveling to US/Europe/Asia customers needed.

5. Help on cost reduction activities on PCB re-spin, new components introduction, yield improvement, test time and process optimization.

1. Bechelor’s degree or above, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electro-optics, Physics or Communications, preferred with background in fiber optic industry.

2. Demonstrated ability to be a design engineer for projects through various stages of Product Development (such like concept design, EVT, DVT, MVT, etc.).

3. Experience in developing Fiber Optic modules such as SFP+/XFP/CFP/QSFP/CXP is preferred.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are desired.

5. Must be self-motivated, and good team player.

Requirement

1. Master degree in Electrical Engineering, computer science, communication, Electro-optics, with strong hardware design background.

2. Minimum 3 years of Hardware develop experience on electrical circuits for Telecommunication industry, working experiences in PON and transceiver is preferred.

3. Familiar with schematic and PCB layout design and tools

4. Ability to do experiments and root cause analysis to solve complex issues in product development.

5. Self-motivated, strong problem-solving capabilities.

6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are desired.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for design and maintenance GPON/EPON ONU hardware development.
• In charge of all hardware topic, schematic, layout, electronic BOM.
• Responsible for design and implement hardware modules, documents.
• Working with a skilled team of software and test development engineers.
