You participate to the installation and maintenance of the equipment at PT site in Beijing, China.

You are responsible for all different aspects of commissioning activities, involving especially electrical and cooling aspects of the equipment. You are in charge of testing and validating new releases according to the specifications, and you ensure the customer requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance, and timing. You collaborate with subcontractors.

After completion of the installation of the equipment you will perform troubleshooting and maintenance activities (including solving electrical, mechanical, and software problems), operate the equipment for various customer needs, provide training to the final customers to use properly and safely the equipment and systems, and provide support on daily clinical operations to the clinical staff.

You report to the Site Manager.

Job Purpose:

• Commissioning
• Operate Proton Therapy System for various customer needs which will include, but not be limited to: Patient Treatment, Patient Specific QA, development, Software Testing, Troubleshooting, and experimentation.
• Troubleshoot PTS equipment including electrical, mechanical, and software problems.
• Maintenance of the PTS including but not limited to preventative maintenance and curative maintenance.
• Clearly communicate the status of the system to the customer as well as to IBA employees.
• Provide support to Software testing and new developments.
• Support daily clinical operations for the clinical staff as defined by the specific site manager.
• Maintain adequate records as defined by the specific facility.
• Support the PTS in all phases which will include but not be limited to: installation, unit testing, integration testing, validation testing and other various site related activities as they are defined by the site manager.

• Participating in the installation of the IBA equipment on the Proton Therapy site with a specific focus on the electrical equipment (Gantry, Power Supply Cabinets, Electrical wiring, X-Ray equipment, etc.).
• Testing, calibrating and validating the equipment according to the specifications and ensuring the contract requirements are met in terms of compliance, quality, technical performance and timing.
• Critically analyzing data to diagnose potential technical problems. Troubleshooting the equipment including solving electrical issues.
• Collaborating intensively during installation and commissioning phase with subcontractors to supervise the installation until the start-up of equipment.
• Ensuring the highest quality of state-of-the-art technologies and services.

Profile Required

• You have very good oral and written skills in English and Mandarin;

• You are a flexible person, willing to work in rotating shift work, night work and weekends (up to 50% of your time).

• You have a bachelor or master degree in engineering (preferably in electronics, electricity or electromechanics);

• You are a true electrician, or electronician. You can read without any doubt drawings, mechanical or electrical. You know all standards in these fields. You have proven hands-on experiences in large scale projects installation;

• You understand perfectly cooling and all related piping topics;

• You have relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems;

• You are a hard worker and willing to learn new technologies. Any kind of proven experience in large system troubleshooting in following fields: electricity and electronic systems including automation are an asset;

• You have relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems;

• You have a broad technical knowledge in several of the following fields: cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC’s, regulation loops, drivers, sensors, positioning equipment, electric motors, high voltage equipment, etc.

• You have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, basic knowledge of UNIX and SAP is a plus;

• Knowledge of Cantonese is an asset;

• You are based at Beijing site, and willing to travel up to 15% of your time, and up to 60% during the training period;

• You are a driven, proactive and hands-on person;

• You are a detail oriented person with very good analytical skills;

• You are able to organize your work autonomously and to take initiatives;

• You are a team player with a strong customer focus;

• A Master degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent experience.

• A sound experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting.

• Technical knowledge of PLC’s regulation loops, drivers, sensors, electric motors, positioning equipment, high and low voltage equipment.

• The ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.

Education and Experience:

• BSEE or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting required.
• Candidate must have experience in several of the following fields: Cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC’s, regulation loops, drivers, sensors, positioning equipment, electric motors, high voltage equipment, low voltage equipment, etc.
• Mechanical system repair, maintenance and operations of large systems a plus.

Computer Skills:

• General Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Access, Outlook etc are a must.
• Basic knowledge of UNIX a plus.
• SAP knowledge a plus.
