Job Outline

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Research Centre in the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (SPMIC-UNNC) was founded in 2018, and is an integral part of the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre (SPMIC) in the University of Nottingham in UK (UNUK). The MRI Research Centre in UNNC develops and applies magnetic resonance techniques in a broad range of areas, including researches on both hardware and software of MRI techniques. The SPMIC-UNNC will carry out joint research and academic exchange, and to promote the sharing of research resources and complementation of intelligence advantages, to better serve the economic and social development of Ningbo.

Qualifications

Essential

• Master’s degree in physics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or other relevant areas.
• Research skills including data analysis and report writing.
• Knowledge of common research skills，Office and Matlab et al
• Working in an international organization.
• Evidence of good research skills, e.g., high quality Master dissertation.
• Good time management.
• Attention to details; patience.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Good communicator.
• A team player with integrity who are willing to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Self-motivated and hardworking.

Desirable

• PhD degree in physics, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or other relevant areas
• Experience in MRI/NMR field
• Evidence of previous data analysis skills or training on research. For example: software such as Matlab, C++ et al.
• Skills and experience in MRI/NMR research
• Evidence of professional research and training experience and have excellent research skills, e.g., active participation in large academic research projects resulting in the publication of academic articles and/or books; acknowledgement of able research assistance in published articles or books.
• Excellent time management.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese.
• Ability to work independently when required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To work on research projects related to “The development of New Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology” with the research team.

More specific activities may include:

• Daily MRI lab management
• MRI research
• Questionnaire administration
• Conduct literature reviews
• Archival data collection
• Help writing articles and reports if skills and team needs make this needed
• Some administrative work as required
