Electronics R&D staff engineer of Internet of things (IOT)

BASIC FUNCTION

Serve as an electrical engineer for K&B smart home engineering. This includes IOT device communication layer hardware and firmware development and improvement. Work with Company global marketing, engineering to meet Company global market requirement. Work with OEM suppliers, cyber security consultant agency, IOT cloud technical support to achieve the best in class communication robustness and internet communication security. Work with smart home partners to implement the IOT device integration into 3rd party smart home ECO systems.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Define the IOT device communication protocols and specifications to the field gateway and IOT hub in the cloud. Work with OEM suppliers to develop and qualify the communication bridge and field gateway to meet the unique wireless communication environment in the kitchen and bathroom. Develop the firmware of the bridge.

2. Work with Company global marketing to meet their unique market requirement, such as China, US, UK and Asia countries.

3. Work with 3rd party smart home integration partners to define the customized device layer connection protocols and specifications. To implement the interconnection between Kohler and 3rd party smart home and smart hotel systems.

4. Set up and maintain the best in class security in the device communication layer specifications. Implement the security design in the communication bridge and field gateway.

5. Implement edge computing function in the field gateway.

DEMONSTRATED SKILLS

1. Very strong experience and knowledges on MCU equipped PCBA and firmware development and qualification.

2. Very strong experience on WIFI and blue tooth hardware and firmware design.

3. Builds effective working relationships quickly in a cross-functional team environment.

4. Communicates well at all levels of organization with strong written, verbal and data presentation skills.

5. Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin. Be able to work with partners in different countries.

6. Analytical with a high degree of problem solving skills and attention to detail.

7. Well organized, manages time and projects effectively.

8. Cultural sensitivity between Chinese & American associates and business entities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree and above.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical products engineering with exposure to electronics hardware and firmware development in WIFI and blue tooth.
Must possess expert knowledge in problem-solving, and supplier management.
