Scojet Inc., an American product design and sourcing company based in the USA is seeking a product design engineer for our Ninghai, China operations.

Must be able to speak and write English.

Duties include designing products with Solidworks or PTC Creo, finding suppliers to manufacture parts, assisting suppliers with process and quality control, communicating project details from our US engineering team to our Chinese suppliers, checking and inspecting products before shipment.

Engineer should be able to do inspection of components, completing First Article inspections, PPAP documentation and assisting sourcing team with confirming the quality of supplier components. Quality control in production process, manage defective products, find solutions to recover the quality issue, make and document quality reports.

Will be involved in communication with customer including new project development meetings, assembly line inspections, meeting with customer quality teams to assess control plans and process sheets.

Experience with plastics, castings, electrical components, and consumer product design is preferred.

Check drawing for missing dimensions, finish, and translate technical specifications into Chinese for suppliers to understand

Study CAD models for manufacturability

Advise sourcing team on potential issues to ask suppliers and help them with qualifying suppliers to ensure they can manufacture the parts correctly

Assist US engineering team with design.

Provide technical assistance to sourcing team, review drawings, translate technical requirements and explain to suppliers, help suppliers with how to process the parts if they are not sure best way to make and also work with my US and China partners with design of products and components.

Help with quality functions like review PPAP from suppliers, assist with first article inspection and incoming inspection.

Will require some travel to support sourcing team onsite at suppliers and review process and inspect components before shipping.
