Project Manager


Job Description


  • Ensure (technical and managerial) coordination and communication among the project stakeholders, both internal (engineering, operations, maintenance, process, quality, HSSE, procurement, finance…) and external (engineering office, suppliers, contractors, third parties…)

  • Ensure H&E matters of the project are managed at the highest standards, in compliance with laws and company policies

  • Align with Client standards and best practices

  • Develop the project conceptual, basic and detail design, with the support of internal and/or external engineering

  • Develop and manage project budget, schedule and risks

  • Prepare the capex documentation to get project approval(s)

  • Lead BD – DD - building modification - equipment installation - Commissioning activities of the project after project approval(s), with the support of internal and/or external engineering

  • Strictly follow permit to work procedure during execution phase

  • Develop the package and all technical specifications, in collaboration with process engineering, technology leaders and end-users

  • Coordinate the overall project capital goods purchasing effort, including the issuance of purchase orders to selected suppliers / contractors through indirect purchasing team

  • Coordinate the selected suppliers / contractors, including the approval the Goods Receipts and contract close-outs.

  • Ensure inspections of purchased equipment take place prior to delivery, when required

  • Develop and execute the commissioning protocols, including mechanical completion inspections, functional and water batch testing, in collaboration with process engineering, technology leaders and end-users

  • Ensure the close-out of project punch lists

  • Ensure equipment technical files transfer to the maintenance department

  • Prepare and manage the handover(s) (formally transferring care, custody and control of the completed project) of the project to the operation team

  • Ensure troubleshooting and support to operations during startup.

  • Prepare the closing review and financially close the project in collaboration with Finance department

  • Monitor and control project engineering performance against the master project schedule, the approved capital budget, quality and safety targets

  • Issue a monthly project engineering status report

  • Conduct and minute weekly project meetings

  • Prepare and minute the project status to the steering committee


Profile


ü Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering (Chemical or Process)

ü Experience (8 years +) in Retail, Flavour & Fragrance, Fine Chemicals, Food, Pharma or FMCG, in an international environment with established firms highly preferred

ü Demonstrated previous experience in manufacturing projects investment, in a direct implementation role as Project Engineer and as Engineering Project Manager

ü Demonstrate previous experience with internal logistic improvement projects

ü Strong technical background in the relevant fields (mechanical, E&I, equipments, HVAC, fire-fighting system)

ü Strong leadership and ability to build relationships

ü Highly efficient with ability to work under pressure

ü Results-oriented, execution driven and teamwork focused

ü Proficiency with MS Project, SAP, MS Office, Autocad

ü Fluent in Mandarin Chinese

ü Good English written and spoken

ü Lean, Six sigma or Continuous improvement experience is an asset

ü SAP knowledge is an asset

ü Project management certification (PMP) is an asset
