Shanghai Hengrui Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. has committed to develop innovative medicines in various disease areas. With the increasing needs for both preclinical and clinical studies, this position at the Department of Translational Medicine will develop and apply patient stratification strategies, indication expansion and combination opportunities to support drug discovery and development programs.

The key accountabilities and responsibilities include:

• Develop and validate patient selection strategies for the clinical development needs
• Explore indication expansion, combination opportunities and resistance mechanisms for life cycle management of programs
• Identify and validate novel targets to fill into drug discovery pipeline and portfolio
• Meet the needs from drug discovery project teams and development programs, as well as communicate and coordinate with the counterparts at other functions to ensure effective delivery and data quality
• Engage with key opinion leaders for scientific collaborations
• Provide scientific and technical leadership within the translational medicine community at Hengrui

Requirements:

• M.S./Ph.D. in biomedical science with at least 2-3 years of working experience in pharmaceutical industry or diagnostic companies
• Scientific and technical expertise in next-generation sequencing (NGS) (including panel sequencing, WES, WGS, RNAseq, and any customized library construction), esp. in assay design and development
• Data QC, analysis/interpretation and trouble-shooting abilities
• Good team players
• Good oral and written communication skills

Preferred requirements:

• Previous experience in translational medicine projects
• Previous knowledge of clinical practice
• Understanding of bioinformatics analysis
