The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) helps British and Chinese businesses and organisations work together in China, the UK and other markets around the world. Internship Position – Shanghai
Commencing: July 2019
Duration: until 31st August – possibility to extend
Main duties and responsibilities
CBBC is seeking a current university student to assist the Intellectual Property (IP) team in Shanghai office. The intern will be reporting to the IP Project Manager and will assist with a variety of tasks and activities of IP team. The intern may also have opportunities to join CBBC IP events or conferences as well as get involved in the IP projects.
Working scope:
RSVP for IP roundtables;
Collect agenda points before IP roundtables;
On-site support for IP roundtables (Alibaba, JD, Pinduoduo, Customs etc.);
Prepare meeting notes for IP roundtables;
Conduct research on IP focusing on poverty alleviation;
Assist in preparing the IP related position paper as required;
Research about companies and Intellectual Property in China and the UK;
Book meeting room when required;
Other tasks assigned.
The CBBC internship position offers a unique opportunity to learn about the latest IP policies and practices in China. The intern will gain exposure to UK companies of all sizes and from a wide range of industries. The intern will also have a good opportunity to connect with the e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, JD.com, Pinduoduo, Xiaohongshu and many more, as well as governmental authorities (Customs and IP court) to learn about the latest IP policies.
The intern will report to the IP Project Manager, East China in the Shanghai office.
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
Chinese Student from Law School with interest in IP field is preferred
Good at English (both written and spoken)
Excellent attention to detail, team player
Ability to think critically
Curious and keen to learn
Three days per week minimum preferred
Current university student preferred
