Position Summary： Shanghai Genome Center is seeking a full time Technical Director to be part of our clinical laboratory team (day shift) based in Shanghai. At Shanghai Genome Center, we believe that all patients with cancer deserve to have access to molecularly informed therapy and clinical trials.

The Director will work for a clinical sequencing laboratory based in Shanghai, China. He/or she will be responsible for the overall clinical lab operation with focus on clinical reporting of molecular oncology results.

Location: Shanghai, China

Major Responsibilities:

1. Interprets and reports cancer genome sequencing result: Be responsible for reporting testing results promptly and accurately.

2. Ensures test methods selected have the capability of providing quality results and provide valuable information in clinical practice.

3. Implements new test programs, including test menu, analysis methods, and procedures related to genetic testing using next-generation sequencing technology and other genomics and molecular biology related methods.

4. Ensures new assay validation and verification procedures are adequate to determine accuracy, precision, and other pertinent performance characteristics of the method.

5. Ensures the establishment and maintenance of acceptable levels of analytical performance for each test interpretation and reporting system.

6. Ensures that corrective actions are taken and documented, whenever significant deviations from the laboratory’s established performance characteristics are identified, and patient test results are reported only when the system is functioning properly.

7. Ensures testing systems provide quality laboratory services across pre-analytic, analytic, to post-analytic phases. Maintains and improves quality system according to CLIA/CAP/ICL regulation.

Minimal qualification: MD or MD/PhD; 5 years of experience in CLIA/CAP laboratories.

Certification in ABMGG or ABP in Molecular Genetics Pathology is preferred but not a must.

Previous experience in signing out molecular oncology reports is highly preferred.
