Job Outline:

The Li Dak Sum Incubator Assistant/Manager is responsible for assisting/managing innovation and entrepreneurship for Li Dak Sum Incubator in the University of Nottingham Ningbo China.

This role will primarily support the operation and management of innovative and entrepreneurial projects within UNNC students, alumni and international community, to promote a world-class international incubation platform. The role holder will work with incubator operation team and will report directly to Li Dak Sum Team leader, based in Ningbo.

Qualifications

Essential (Level 2)

• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc.;
• Fluency in Chinese and English, both written and spoken;
• Good communicator with ability to influence and persuade across different levels of the organisation;
• The ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards;
• Good organizational skills to facilitate work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment;
• Demonstrates creative and critical thinking skills;
• Highly organised, self-motivated and committed, with the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and find solutions to complex issues as they arise;
• Experience of planning, implementing innovative event;
• Positive approach to customer care;
• Ability to prioritise work under pressure;
• Ability to work on own initiative;
• Flexible approach to working;
• Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail.

Desirable (Level 3)

• Master Degree or a professional qualification in business, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, communications, etc.;
• Experience of overseas study or work in multinational organization;
• Good business development skill
• Knowledge and awareness of recent developments in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship, and knowledge transfer
• Work Experience in research and knowledge exchange or entrepreneurship;
• Experience of marketing, or business development;
• Experience of executing campaigns and projects.
• Strategic thinking;
• Self-motivated with can do attitude;
• Strong understanding of regulations and legislation impacting on the marketing function particularly in relation to, funding monitoring.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To help promote Li Dak Sum Incubator both internally and externally to contribute to the development and delivery of the platform’s overall entrepreneurial strategies;
• To recruit quality start-up and provide professional incubation service;
• To support University technology spinout and knowledge transfer, student and alumni start-up;
• To develop and implement incubator policy and contribute to incubator phase two planning
• To maintain active start-up community by designing and organizing innovation and entrepreneurship events and activities like competition/sessions/salons/clinic and cooperate with different departments and student organizations at UNNC to expand innovation awareness;
• To develop partners both domestically and internationally for incubator’s growth and external development.
• To assist on building a strong brand of incubator by a full package of marketing materials/project profile/industry profile, etc. including social media, brochure, newsletters, website, video, and so forth;
• To keep good record of incubator progress and overall innovation and entrepreneurship achievement for regular report to shareholders and donors.
• To participate in training and student innovation intern schemes as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
• To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate to the role.
