Salary & Benefits: RMB 144, 679 to RMB 205,433 per annum before all deductions, depending on qualifications and experience

Job Outline

This role provides support for activities to develop research funding sources for the Faculty of Business and the Nottingham China Health Institute (NCHI). It is part of the Research Support Team in the Faculty of Business where other roles will be updated once this post is filled.


The roles cover two broad areas:

  • Research funding: helping the Faculty and Institute to get funding from research grants, partners and donors, as well as ensuring effective stakeholder management of these grants.
  • Research impact: organising conferences, events and other activities to maximise the impact of research in the Faculty and Institute, as well as tracking the impact of research for reporting and reputation purposes.


Overall direction and strategy is provided by the Associate Dean RKE and Executive Director of the Nottingham Healthcare Institute. Within the Faculty, the Research Funding Executive works closely with faculty and researchers, the Director of External Engagement and others such as those responsible for marketing communications. Within UNNC, the Senior Manager works operationally with other research areas, Legal, Procurement, Finance, Alumni Office and the Education Foundation. The Support Executive also communicates as appropriate with the UK and Malaysia campuses, in particular on international research collaboration.



Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Expert in using MS Office
  • Strong Chinese and English communication skills (oral and written)
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Knowledge of research and academic culture
  • Understanding of business and/ or healthcare
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Experience of strategic and budget planning
  • Organisation of small projects with proven ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines
  • Experience of communicating with senior managers and/ or high net worth individuals
  • Experience of preparing high quality proposals (or equivalent documents for external audiences) and presentations
  • Experience of monitoring budgets/ resources with an understanding of financial management procedures
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A high degree of self-motivation
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Accurate and attentive to detail
  • Ability to form and maintain strong and effective relationships internally and externally

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate prospective research funding sources
  • Assist in building relationships to win research grants/ donations and preparing/ editing high quality proposals
  • Act as operational contact with research grant bodies, donors and business partners
  • Establish and maintain operational systems and processes for measurement of research impact
  • Organise conferences, events and activities to increase the impact of research
  • Participate in training and staff development schemes as trainer or trainee as appropriate
  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as appropriate to the role


As part of a small Research Support Team, flexibility is expected of all team members in supporting each other in line with overall workload of the team.
